The ultimate getaway vehicle

The Kodiak 900 was developed for owners and operators seeking to expand the legendary Kodiak 100’s proven capabilities without sacrificing its rugged characteristics. While preserving the Kodiak 100’s exceptional short takeoff and landing performance, forgiving flight characteristics and operational versatility, the Kodiak 900 adds greater speed, increased payload, enhanced passenger comfort.

More power for greater efficiency. The PT6A-140A Turboprop

a larger, more powerful and reliable engine

The Kodiak 900 introduces a new powerplant to the Kodiak family. The Pratt & Whitney PT6A-140A engine is a free-power, two-shaft turbine engine with 900 shaft horsepower. 20% more than on the Kodiak 100. The -140A type consists of two independent turbines: one drives the compressor/gas generator while the second drives the propeller through a reduction gearbox.

Faster cruise speed, quicker takeoff and increased rate of climb

The PT6A-140A delivers more horsepower, which brings about faster climbs, and a maximum cruise speed of 210 KTAS.

A mechanic’s dream

With the relocation of the battery and reworked/removed MCU system, there is now more room in the engine bay between engine and turbine. The extra space is welcomed by mechanics. Working on the powerplant will not require removal of other components. The borescope access provides for easy maintenance. The Kodiak 900 also features engineering enhancements to the air intake and ducting systems resulting in significantly less drag and greater efficiency.

Five blade Hartzell propeller

The Kodiak 900 features Hartzell constant speed, full-feathering, reversible, hydraulically actuated, composite 5-bladed propeller. This 97-inch diameter propeller diameter adds significant performance to climbs, descents, and cruise, all the while reducing noise both within and outside the aircraft. The prop clearance comes in at 15.4 inches, giving enough room for rough, uneven, off-pavement operations. The propeller edge also features nickel plating to protect the composite material and improving its lifespan.

Stronger performance. Greater efficiency. Expanded possibilities.

Kodiak 900 technical description

Designed-in innovation for extra safety margins

Certified to the latest airworthiness standards, the Kodiak 900 is the safest and most reliable aircraft in its class.

The Kodiak 900 retains the unique “discontinuous leading edge” wing design of the Kodiak 100, which provides excellent handling qualities and protection against aerodynamic stalls – including at low speeds and while maneuvering. When most airplanes would stall, the Kodiak continues to fly.

Safety innovative design to provide extra margin_1 Safety innovative design to provide extra margin_2

As airspeed decreases, the wing's innovative configuration enables the aircraft to retain roll authority while approaching stall conditions, giving pilots added confidence during slow-flight operations. Vortex generators on both the wing and horizontal stabilizers further enhance controllability by improving airflow and delaying aerodynamic stall.

The result is an airplane that combines exceptional capability with predictable flying qualities throughout every phase of flight.

Garmin G1000 NXi integrated flight deck

The Garmin G1000® NXi integrated flight deck provides the same advanced situational awareness and intuitive operation that have become hallmarks of the Kodiak 100, while introducing additional capabilities tailored to the Kodiak 900's expanded mission profile.

Standard features include the GFC 700 digital autopilot with Electronic Stability and Protection, Synthetic Vision Technology, SurfaceWatch runway monitoring, Garmin GDL60  and ADS-B capability. Additional technologies such as WireAware, 3D Audio and enhanced electrical architecture further improve situational awareness, operational flexibility and system reliability.

The redesigned cockpit also improves ergonomics while creating additional panel space for mission-specific equipment, making the Kodiak 900 equally suited for executive transportation, commercial operations and specialized mission applications.

Available options include the TKS® ice protection system for Flight Into Known Icing certification.

  • Garmin GFC700 Autopilot

The relocated autopilot control panel integrates advanced safety features, including Electronic Stability Protection (ESP), Level Mode, Underspeed Protection, and Coupled Go-Around capabilities, helping reduce pilot workload while enhancing safety and confidence throughout every phase of flight.

  • Primary flight displays (PFD)

Standard features like Synthetic Vision and an integrated moving map provide essential flight information—including traffic, terrain, weather, navigation aids, and obstacles. A frequency identifier displays the name of the tuned facility for added clarity, while available SurfaceWatch technology enhances runway safety.

  • Multifunction Display (MFD)

Enhances situational awareness and flight planning with a Vertical Situation Display that provides a graphical view of the aircraft’s altitude. Integrated weight-and-balance tools allow pilots to calculate loading directly in the cockpit, while flexible moving map options display terrain, sectional, and IFR charts.

  • GDL 60

The Garmin GDL 60 provides advanced aircraft connectivity, enabling seamless communication between the avionics system and compatible mobile devices. Beyond EFB integration and streamlined data exchange, it also enables the Aircraft Status feature within Me & My Kodiak, giving operators remote visibility into key aircraft data before arriving at the aircraft and helping optimize preflight preparation and operational efficiency.

  • Digital standby instruments

The MD302 electronic standby instrument provides independent backup flight information, including attitude, airspeed, altitude, and altitude trend data. It ensures pilots have access to essential flight information in the event of a primary avionics failure.

  • Garmin GWX 8000 StormOptix Weather Radar

The weather radar, integrated in the Garmin G1000 Nxi, enhances situational awareness with advanced storm detection, turbulence monitoring, and real-time weather visualization

  • De-Ice control panel

Provides intuitive control of the aircraft’s ice protection systems, allowing pilots to quickly monitor and manage anti-ice and de-ice functions for safer operation in challenging weather conditions.

Adaptable by design for ultimate versatility

The Kodiak 900 transforms the utility-focused heritage of the Kodiak 100 into an aircraft equally suited for extended travel. Its fuselage length extension of 3.9 feet (1.19 meters ) provides additional cabin volume, while handcrafted reclining seats, individual environmental controls and dedicated oxygen and headset connections create a refined environment for everyone aboard.

Large, high-mounted windows throughout the cabin enhance visibility and reinforce the experience of viewing the world from above. Every seat is a window seat, and the flexible interior layouts – including club seating configurations – enable the cabin to easily adapt for business travel, family adventures or specialized transportation requirements.

The aircraft’s pallet-sized cargo door, two forward pilot access doors and the flat cabin floor make interior reconfiguration and the loading of cargo fast, efficient and remarkably simple.  Support cables on the bottom cargo door can be disconnected, enabling its lowering to approximately 90 degrees – facilitating direct forklift loading when required.

Transformable by design to meet the next adventure

Built for a wide range of missions, the Kodiak 900 combines a spacious cargo hold with multiple cabin configuration options to suit virtually any operation. Its generous payload capacity and mission-ready versatility make it an ideal solution for operators who prioritize flexibility without compromise.

Further enhancing the Kodiak 900’s adaptability is the integrated underfuselage cargo pod, which is particularly appreciated in tourism operations when passengers typically travel with substantial luggage – and any time additional baggage/equipment is to be carried.  This pod incorporates multiple compartments separated by internal bulkheads, allowing baggage/cargo to be organized while minimizing movement during flight. Keeping luggage outside the passenger cabin improves cabin comfort, simplifies boarding and deplaning, and leaves the interior uncluttered throughout the flight.
